How We Research
How Apartment Pet Living uses sources, apartment-specific questions, and editorial review to build practical guides.
Our guides help you decide what fits your space and routine. Here is how we approach the work behind them.
Start with your problem
We begin with a reader’s question, then define the apartment-specific use case: available space, everyday routines, cleaning, storage, and the needs of the pet.
Choose candidates and sources
We identify products relevant to that question. We prefer authoritative sources for animal welfare and training guidance, official specifications for product details, and retailer information where applicable. A candidate is not automatically a recommendation.
Keep facts traceable
We record sources for important claims and distinguish documented facts from editorial judgment. Our interpretation should explain when a choice may fit, what it depends on, and where the information is limited.
Check before publication
Important claims go through fact-checking and human editorial review before publication. Unsupported claims need evidence, narrower wording, or removal. Commission is not evidence of product quality.
Be clear about testing
Research-based coverage is not the same as hands-on testing. We do not claim personal testing unless it happened. If we test a product in the future, the article will describe the model, method, conditions, date, and limitations.
Update meaningful changes
Product information can change. When we identify a meaningful change, we check the affected claims and update the guide as needed. If you spot something that needs attention, send us the page and a supporting source.
